Want to leave the car at the campsite? You can safely cycle along the coast via the cycle paths to reach Perpignan, stopping whenever you please!

WHAT TO DO IN PERPIGNAN AND ITS SURROUNDINGS?
In Perpignan, the former capital of the Kingdom of Majorca, you will discover the history of Occitanie with its ramparts, palace, and gardens. You can stroll through its typically Catalan narrow streets and enjoy a walk along the quays.
The period architecture is sure to impress. Don’t forget to taste the Catalan culinary delights!
In summer, you can enjoy the “Jeudis de Perpignan” (Thursday festivals) and, in early September, a world-class event: the International Festival of Photojournalism “VISA pour l’image.”

PLANNING YOUR STAY IN PERPIGNAN

OUR FAVORITE SPOTS AROUND PERPIGNAN
Just outside Perpignan, you can reach Collioure, visit the Côte Vermeille, stop for a swim at Paulilles Bay, and discover the Cathar castles.
On the other side of town, head toward the mountains, where Ille-sur-Têt will remind you of the American Great Canyons. Stopping at Eus, you will visit one of the “Most Beautiful Villages of France.” On the same road, you will end up at Villefranche-de-Conflent (a fortified pedestrian town) where the Yellow Train awaits you for a rail journey across the Pyrenees.
Finally, Spain awaits you just across the border (45 minutes by car) to discover its colors, Catalan spirit, beaches, and paellas. You can visit the cities of Girona, Figueres, Rosas, or even Barcelona (2.5 hours away).
